Why work with me?
Experience & credentials
Ireland is known for its storytelling heritage, and as a naturalised citizen, I am honoured to have won the Irish round of the 2020 Professional Speaking Association’s competition. My storytelling roots run deep, influenced by witnessing remarkable speakers in my family tradition, anti-Apartheid activists, desert ultrarunners, and everyday heroes.
I have formal studies in in psychology, literature, history, spirituality, and business. These bring focus and discipline to my speaking.
The ability to connect, inform, and inspire has been refined through my published writing, including co-authoring Right of Admission Reserved, a book on diversity and inclusion, and contributing columns to publications like The Pink Tongue, Go-Multi, and Trail magazines for 12 years.
More about me
My talks are rooted in authentic experiences and careful research. While I can share personal stories, the true focus is your audience. Every talk positions them as the story's heroes, drawing on insights that resonate and experiences that inspire.
Some of the stories that have formed me include:
- Teaching literacy to learners four times my age.
- Burying my brother and working to dismantle the Apartheid system that shaped his fate.
- Clearing a flooded church basement so inner-city preschoolers could learn.
- Running the NYC Marathon sans shoes and completing the Marathon des Sables.
- Observing some leaders navigate complex challenges with integrity—and witnessing others falter under ordinary pressures.
- Facing my own missteps, failing friends, losing my way, and grappling with the meaning of it all.
These experiences, and the lessons they’ve taught me, inform every talk I deliver. Let’s work together to create an unforgettable experience for your audience—and help you achieve the goals that matter most.
